FATEMA BUKHARI, M.D.

Born in India, Dr. Bukhari emigrated to the US with her parents as an infant and was raised in Tampa, Florida.  She decided to pursue medicine at an early age and felt that pediatrics was the perfect way to combine her love for science and a desire to work with children. She received her undergraduate and medical degree from the George Washington University graduating from the seven year dual BA/MD program. She then completed her pediatric residency training at Emory University in 2010.  After completion of her residency, Dr. Bukhari worked as an urgent care attending at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and as a general pediatrician at a community health center in Boston, MA and most recently, at a private practice in Northern Virginia.  Her experiences in these various healthcare settings along with her own perspective as a mother, have shaped her outlook as a pediatrician and she enjoys fostering long-term relationships with families. Dr. Bukhari is excited to join the Town Pediatrics family in August 2022.  She speaks Hindi/Urdu fluently and enjoys traveling and cooking.  She and her husband have two daughters and live in Loudoun County.
